Welcome to England.

Better get planning

  • Land here.

We might be a small country, but that just means you can land almost anywhere and still be with us in a few hours. The easiest option is usually London Heathrow – it handles multiple daily flights from Newark and JFK, often making it the cheapest choice. It also has excellent public transport links and road access into central London and beyond.

Other options include London Gatwick and Manchester, which also serve transatlantic routes, but getting to the wedding from there is a bit trickier and takes more time. That said, if you're planning to explore other parts of the UK first, those airports could still work for you!

  • travel here.

The best way to get around depends on what else you’re planning to do during your trip.

If you're mostly staying in London...

Stick with public transport – it's cheaper, faster, and easier than driving.

From Heathrow, take the Elizabeth Line or the Heathrow Express to reach central London in 30 minutes or less.

Avoid taking a taxi from the airport – it's expensive and slow due to traffic.

Once in the city, you can walk most places or hop on the Tube (subway) using your contactless credit card or Apple Pay – no need to buy tickets in advance.

When it’s time to head out to the wedding, catch a train from London St Pancras (King’s Cross) to Kettering – it takes about 45 minutes. From Kettering Station, it’s a short taxi ride to the venue or any of the nearby hotels listed on the accommodation page.

If you're skipping London or planning to explore the countryside...

Consider renting a car for your trip. It’ll give you the freedom to explore rural England – charming villages, country pubs, and scenic roads await!

Yes, we drive on the left, but don’t worry – it’s easier to adjust than you think.

No right on red here, and roundabouts are common (always yield to the right).

You’ll need an international driving permit only if your license isn’t in English – otherwise, your US license is fine.

Renting a car will give you access to more remote spots and save money compared to booking lots of taxis.

  • stay here.

You’ll find hotel options near the wedding venue on the Accommodation page – but for the rest of your trip, we recommend branching out beyond Kettering.

There’s so much to see nearby, including:

Althorp House in Northampton – home and resting place of Princess Diana. The house and grounds are open to the public.

The Cotswolds – just over an hour away by car, offering rolling green hills, historic stone villages, market towns, and cozy pubs. (Also the home of Clarkson’s Farm, if you're a fan!)

If you're planning a longer trip or want help figuring out where to go and how to get around, we’re more than happy to help. Just drop us a message via the contact page or email us directly – we’d love to help you build your itinerary!
